Divine Ikubor (born 1st May 2001), popularly known by his stage name Rema (aka Remy Boy), is a young Nigerian singer, rapper and songwriter.
He was born in 2001 in Benin City, Edo State. Born into a Christian family, Rema grew up singing and rapping while in secondary school and church. He attained his primary and secondary school education in Edo State.
In 2013, Rema and his friend Alpha P formed a crew called RnA. The group’s name is a combination of the first letters of their stage names.
RnA won season 2 of Pikolo’s Dream Alive talent show. They signed a record deal with Peak Entertainment shortly afterward and released their debut single “Mercy”.
The mid-tempo song was recorded at Dream Alive Studio in Benin City. The music video for “Mercy” was directed by Whyte House Pictures. The group gained minor exposure following their performance at the Glo Slide and Bounce concert series in Benin and Lagos.
In March 2019, he signed a record deal with Jonzing World/Mavin Records. He quickly captured the Nigerian music market with his smash hit ‘Dumebi’ off his self-titled EP ‘Rema’. He became the first artist signed to Mavin Records after the multimillion-dollar partnership with Kupanda Holdings.
Merely a week since the release of the ‘Rema’ EP, the project topped charts as the number one selling album in Nigeria. (#1 Album of the week, Song of the week #2 & #7 and more) on the Apple Music charts.
The ‘Dumebi’ crooner had his first official performance at the annual ‘Homecoming’ concert 2019.

On 19 October 2019, Rema won Next Rated and was nominated for Viewer’s Choice at the 13th edition of The Headies and also nominated on some awards.
